Connecting Carers NSW

Provides support and education and coordinating peer support for carers in a particular region of NSW through a team of regional co-ordinators. Local Coordinators are trained volunteers who are experienced foster, relative or kinship carers. Their role is to assist Regional Coordinators during training and education sessions and will offer peer support to other carers. Connecting Carers operate a 24 hour/7day phone support service on 1300 794 653 and http://www.connectingcarersnsw.com.au/services 

Aboriginal Child, Family and Community Care State Secretariat (ABSEC)

ABSEC are the peak body for Aboriginal Out of Home Care in NSW. Services offered include peer support and advocacy services to carers of aboriginal children – Carers can access the support groups by ringing 1800 88 698.
